Today the Bucks Scouts Team Challenge was held at Braid Wood campsite. MK Enigma sent a 20 strong team consisting of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts from across the district with Charlotte Miles representing 1^st Bletchley Scouts.

The day started out early from Bletchley Bus Station at 7:30am. Arriving at RAF Halton about 8:30am; the day’s activities kicked off with a hike from RAF Halton through Wendover woods to Braid Wood campsite.

After lunch the activities continued with tent pitching; riffle shooting; pioneering; creative actives and orienteering. The real highlight of the day came when the event was visited by the Chief Scout himself, Bear Grylls.

On a tight schedule, Bear did his best to make his way around the camp site, visiting the youngsters participating in the various activities, before he flew off to Heathrow to catch a trans-Atlantic flight. Fortunately Charlotte was able to impress Bear with her cooking of a ‘Mini’ Full English Breakfast cooked upon a tin can; Well Done Charlotte!

The day finished back where it had started, arriving at Bletchley Bus Station about 7:30pm.

All in all it was a fantastic day enjoyed by all, despite all the mud and rain!
